At Hôpital vétérinaire Animo-Vet, we offer musculoskeletal therapies for your pets. These interventions can be particularly effective for pets with arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, trauma injuries or after orthopedic surgery. Musculoskeletal therapies can also be a preventative approach for very active animals or animals with a slightly abnormal gait, poor posture or joint degeneration.
Understanding musculoskeletal therapies
The nervous system controls the entire body. A healthy nervous system, therefore, means a healthy body! The veterinarian will use various hands-on techniques to treat the affected vertebrae and joints, facilitate relaxation and reduce inflammation and pain.
Can this treatment help my puppy or kitten?
Absolutely. Your young, growing pet is undergoing a lot of intense physical changes in a short period of time. Musculoskeletal therapies keep your pet’s joints healthy and can help prevent certain breed-specific health problems.
How effective is this treatment?
Each animal will respond differently. You will typically observe significant improvement after one to four sessions, but this will depend on your animal’s condition. Regular follow-ups are needed to treat acute or chronic pain.
